350 days after his last game for Bayern Munich, Manuel Neuer will return for the Rekordmeister as they host Darmstadt in the Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon.
The 37-year-old returns to the starting lineup after suffering a broken leg during a freak skiing accident in December, following Germany’s elimination from the World Cup. Neuer’s return of course means that Sven Ulreich, who has performed well in Neuer’s absence, will become Bayern’s No. 2 again.
Thomas Tuchel also confirmed that Dayot Upamecano, Serge Gnabry, Raphaël Guerreiro and Leon Goretzka will all miss Saturday’s game which means that other than Neuer replacing Ulreich, it will be the same team that started against Galatasaray in the Champions League in midweek.
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Thomas Müller and Mathys Tel will remain as options from the bench.
Bayern Munich Predicted XI vs Darmstadt
Manuel Neuer – Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs de Ligt, Kim Min-jae, Alphonso Davies – Konrad Laimer, Joshua Kimmich – Leroy Sané, Jamal Musiala, Kingsley Coman – Harry Kane.
