For Bayern Munich, it’s a case of job done and an opportunity to rest some players as well as keep their 100% record in this season’s Champions League. Julian Nagelsmann’s side are coming off the back of a 6-2 victory against Mainz 05 and would expect to continue the winning feeling at home.
Likewise, Inter Milan have already secured their place in the knockout stages and would also not want to risk any players ahead of their domestic tie against Juventus on the weekend. It’ll be interesting to see if German international Robin Gosens plays for the Italian side. The wing-back is desperate for a move to the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen rumoured to be the likely destination. This could be the ideal place to put himself on the shop window.
Team News
In terms of injury news for Bayern, don’t expect Manuel Neuer to make his comeback on Tuesday. The veteran goalkeeper has just returned to training so it’s unlikely for him to feature. Other Bayern players expected to be missing include Bouna Sarr, Lucas Hernandez, Leroy Sané, Thomas Müller, and finally Matthijs de Ligt who picked up a knock against Mainz last weekend. This could make way for the frustrated Benjamin Pavard who was clearly annoyed about not starting on Saturday.
Predicted Bayern Munich starting XI:
Ulreich – Mazraoui, Upamecano, Pavard, Davies – Sabitzer, Goretzka – Coman, Musiala, Mané – Choupo-Moting.
