Hannover look set to cash in on the 27-year-old central defender who they picked up last summer.
Portsmouth’s efforts to pick up Josh Knight from Hannover 96 may have worked, with Sky Germany labelling it a done deal.
A full agreement in principle has been reached with the 2.Bundesliga side, following the prior verbal agreement with the centre-back.
The total transfer fee for the 27-year-old is understood to be in the region of €1million, plus further add-ons.
Knight, who came through Leicester City’s academy and enjoyed a strong spell with Peterborough, joined Hannover in June 2024.
At one stage prior to his Hannover move, it looked like he could be on his way to the German topflight with Werder Bremen circling.
In the end, the Englishman made 23 appearances in the 2.Bundesliga last season whilst chipping in with a share of 3 goals.
