Barcelona star Lamine Yamal was afforded a shoulder to lean on by Inter Milan’s Marcus Thuram on the back of the meeting between the two sides on Tuesday.
Barcelona of course marked their return to action a short time ago, making the trip to San Siro for the 2nd leg of a Champions League semi-final tie with Simone Inzaghi’s Inter.
When all was said and done in nothing short of a remarkable clash, it was the latter who emerged on the right side of the result, though.
After Francesco Acerbi levelled things up deep into injury-time to make it 6-6 on aggregate, the tie was sent to extra time.
And Inter, from here, held their nerve, notching the decisive goal both of the evening and the tie courtesy of Davide Frattesi.
Upon the full-time whistle bringing a close to nothing short of a breathless affair, in turn, it came as little surprise to see Barcelona’s stars look completely crestfallen.
One such player came in the form of Lamine Yamal, who gave his all courtesy of a pair of dazzling individual performances over the course of the two legs.
And as alluded to above, quick to provide comfort to Barca’s wing sensation was opponent for the night and Inter star Marcus Thuram.
The Frenchman was spotted hugging and encouraging Lamine on the San Siro pitch, a photo of which can be seen below:
