During a publicity event at the Royal Spanish Football Federation’s headquarters in Las Rozas, the 19-year-old highlighted the importance of Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona:
“Everyone sees him play, the goals he scores, the moves he gives us. Robert gives us many things, I hope he continues like this because it makes me proud to play with him.”
In the interview that was transcribed by Mundo Deportivo, Pedri also discussed what he hopes Spain can achieve during this international break:
“I’m proud to be in the national team. it’s not the World Cup squad, but I’m happy to come for these two important matches. We want to be in the Final Four of the Nations League. I want to enjoy being here and learn from the best.”
Spain will first play Switzerland in Zaragoza on the 24th of September before travelling to Braga to face Portugal three days later in the final two games of the first stage of the 2022-23 Nations League.
