According to Foot Mercato, Paul Pogba (30) and his lawyers have received no official confirmation regarding his suspension for doping.
The Repubblica broke the news earlier today that Pogba would receive a 4-year ban from football after the Anti-Doping Prosecutor’s request was accepted. A story that has been corroborated by the AFP News Agency who states that Pogba’s current club Juventus have confirmed the decision.
Despite this Pogba and his lawyers have not yet received any official confirmation that the court has come to a verdict. However, they have been clear that once they receive this confirmation they will look to launch an appeal against the decision to the Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS).
Pogba to appeal four-year ban
The ban would be a monumental blow to the former World Cup winner who has been unable to play since the 3rd of September due to injuries and a provisional suspension after the failed drugs test.
The trial was set to take place in January but it was later moved to this month. If the decision made by the court is upheld then Pogba would only return to the professional game after almost five seasons without playing.
