An insight into the cut-price clause understood to have been inserted into the contract of up-and-coming Barcelona talent Pau Cubarsí has been forthcoming late this evening.
Defender Cubarsí, of course, has been thrown into the limelight in a major way in Catalunya’s capital over the course of the last week.
This comes after the Spaniard, at the tender age of 16, was afforded back-to-back appearances for Xavi’s Barcelona first-team.
First, en route to the club’s Copa del Rey downing of Unionistas, Cubarsí was introduced off the bench for the 2nd-half, owing to an injury picked up by Andreas Christensen.
And so impressive did the stopper look on his debut, that he was rewarded with a first Blaugrana start just days later, as Xavi and co. emerged on the right side of an impressive 4-2 result at Real Betis.
In turn, just two games into his senior career, it should come as little surprise to hear of excitement beginning to build when it comes to Cubarsí’s abilities.
Consequently, the latest word to have surfaced regarding the fee for which the starlet could be lured away from Catalunya will no doubt come as a major source of concern for the Barca faithful.
As per a report from Santi Ovalle of Cadena SER, Cubarsí is currently tied down to a three-year contract.
This deal, however, is alleged to contain a release clause worth just €10-15 million, the kind of sum which will without question have put top clubs across the continent on high alert.
