Paris Saint-Germain table €60 million offer for Manuel Ugarte

Paris Saint-Germain have tabled an offer worth €60 million to sign Manuel Ugarte from Sporting CP, according to Record.

The 22-year-old has been a revelation this season, completing the most tackles in the Primeira Liga, Champions League and Europa League knockout stages.

Ugarte has attracted interest from several European clubs. Chelsea, Liverpool and Aston Villa have all been linked with a move.

However, his next chapter could see him move to France with the reigning Ligue 1 champions now keen on a move.

Ugarte could be the second player in 12 months to move from Sporting to PSG, following in the footsteps of Nuno Mendes, who completed a permanent switch to Parc des Princes last July.

Despite boasting a vast wealth of options in midfield, PSG are still targeting further reinforcements due to the uncertainty surrounding Marco Verratti’s future.

Les Parisiens splashed the cash on Renato Sanches, Vitinha, Carlos Soler and Fabian Ruiz last summer and will have Leandro Paredes back from his current loan spell at Juventus.

Off the back of what has been a relatively disappointing campaign by their standards, PSG are set for a big summer in the transfer market.

Lionel Messi is all but set to end his two-year stay in the French capital, while Sergio Ramos is also expected to leave as a free agent.

PSG will be expected to flex their huge financial muscle in their quest to secure that elusive Champions League success.

They have reportedly agreed personal terms with Lucas Hernandez, although Bayern Munich are yet to sanction the defender’s exit and want to tie him down to a new deal.
