It hasn’t been decided yet if Paris Brunner will extend his contract with Borussia Dortmund, according to his father and agent, Norbert Brunner.

Borussia Dortmund have expressed interest in tying 17-year-old prodigy Paris Brunner down to his first professional contract.

But with about a month to go before Brunner’s 18th birthday, it’s still unclear what will happen, according to his father and agent.

“Nothing has been decided yet. We are still in talks with Borussia Dortmund and are discussing the football development that BVB is showing Paris,” Norbert Brunner told the Ruhr Nachrichten.

Although Brunner’s talent is undeniable, Dortmund’s decision-makers are said to have doubts about his mentality.

In October, he was briefly suspended by the club for an unspecified incident, and at the club’s training camp in Marbella earlier this month, he again made headlines for the wrong reasons, with reports claiming he tried to sneak out of his hotel room at night despite being told to stay in after midnight.

Asked about the training camp, Norbert Brunner said his son “enjoyed it”.

“He told us about the intensive sessions and his impressions of Spain,” Norbert Brunner said.
