‘Out’ – Sections of Real Madrid fanbase double down on Modrić & Valverde calls after Messi ‘The Best’ vote

Sections of the Real Madrid fanbase have taken to social media once more on Tuesday, to make their anger with two key members of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad known.

The players in question? Luka Modrić, and Federico Valverde.

Midfielders Modrić and Valverde were the subject of a torrent of criticism late on Monday, after it emerged that both had proven decisive in Lionel Messi clinching FIFA’s ‘The Best’ award.

After Messi tied for votes with Manchester City frontman Erling Haaland, the prize’s winner was decided by the first-placed selections of international captains from across the globe.

Modrić and Valverde, meanwhile, had the former atop their respective podiums.

Upon as much becoming public online, Real Madrid supporters the world over took to the social media accounts of the pair of Blancos stars, to shower abuse on both.

This came amid the insinuation that Modrić and Valverde had betrayed their club, owing to Messi’s Barcelona past.

And, on Tuesday, such criticism has only continued to flood in.

As showcased below, members of the Real fanbase have now resorted to taking to the comments section of the club’s official Instagram account, with some, bizarrely, going as far as to call for the midfield duo to be shipped off at the earliest opportunity:
