So far, Nediljko Labrovic has been in goal for Augsburg in every Bundesliga match so far this season – but it may not stay that way.
In an interview with the Augsburger Allgemeine, Augsburg coach Jess Thorup wouldn’t commit to Labrovic as his starting goalkeeper.
“Everything is open at the moment,” Thorup said of the battle between the posts.
Finn Dahmen started in Augsburg’s 3-1 friendly loss to Hoffenheim on Monday and impressed his coach.
“That was an opportunity for me to see Finn with the A team. He did very well,” said Thorup.
Dahmen played 60 minutes and didn’t concede a goal before being replaced by Labrovic.
Labrovic made several mistakes in Augsburg’s last game of 2024, a painful 5-1 defeat at the hands of relegation-threatened Holstein Kiel.
Augsburg face Stuttgart at home on Sunday.
