In terms of team news, Farke confirmed that keeper Jonas Omlin will remain out for the Sunday encounter against Leverkusen. Marcus Thuram, on the other hand, might yet feature.
The foals get set to face Bayer 04 Leverkusen on Sunday in the capper to the 2022/23 German Bundesliga’s penultimate matchday. Farke confirmed that, just like last week, normal #1 keeper Jonas Omlin would be unavailable for the encounter. Farke said nothing to suggest that Jan Olschowsky had done anything to forfeit his starting place, despite letting in five goals against Dortmund last week.
In a spot of good news, Farke reported that the squad’s leading goal-scorer Marcus Thuram remained ahead of schedule on the comeback trail from a muscle fiber tear. The French striker, a confirmed departure after the season concludes, could feature in Sunday’s tie.
“He was with us on the training ground and presented himself quite well,” Farke said, “I think he will be available. He’s missed a bit and it’s not certain that he’s ready for a full 90 minutes. The next two days will reveal much.”
