Eintracht Frankfurt head coach Oliver Glasner assumes that Filip Kostić will remain at the Bundesliga club despite the Serbia international entering the final year of his contract.
“There’s a lot of speculation about him in general, but I’m staying calm,” Glasner told Sky Germany. “I said after Seville that I’m convinced that it wasn’t his last game for Eintracht and I continue to believe that.
“From a sporting point of view, it’s very clear. I want Filip to stay. I would like him to stay because we value him as a person and as a footballer. He also knows what he has in us, knows our standing in the team and in the city. As of now, he’s our player and I assume that he will remain so for a long time to come.”
Kostić has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Juventus for a three-year contract but Eintracht received no offer from the Italian club for the 29-year-old. Their signing of Ángel Di María could have effectively ended their pursuit of Kostić given they play in the same area.
Kostić played 43 games in all competitions for Eintracht Frankfurt last season, scoring seven and creating 15. The Serbian winger also helped SGE lift the Europa League.
