OGC Nice’s defence is expected to evolve significantly this summer. Franck Haise is expected to revert to the back three that he utilised while manager of RC Lens. As well as a change in shape, there will also be personnel changes. Jean-Clair Todibo (24) is almost certain to depart, whilst Melvin Bard has also been previously linked with a move to Manchester United, however, a UEFA ruling would prevent any such move.
There will be changes at right-back too. Jordan Lotomba (25) will leave the club, as will academy product Antoine Mendy (20), according to a report from Foot Mercato. Olympique de Marseille’s Jonathan Clauss (31) is the number one choice for Nice. The France international, who didn’t play a single minute at Euro 2024, has previously worked with Haise while at Lens.
Le Gym have stepped up their pursuit, lodging a bid for Clauss, however, it is a bid that has not met Marseille’s expectations. Nice-Matin have previously reported that OM want €8m for the full-back, who joined for €7.5m from Lens two years ago.
