Official | Will Still signs for RC Lens

Anglo-Belgian head coach Will Still has officially signed for RC Lens, the Ligue 1 side has announced. The 31-year-old manager was a free agent after leaving Stade de Reims. Will Still has put pen to paper over a three-year with the Artois side. The young manager was the overwhelming favorite to take over at Lens and replace the departing Franck Haise, who has officially joined OGC Nice.

The tactically astute Still came to prominence last year after overseeing a staggering 17-game unbeaten streak with Reims, setting a new Ligue 1 record for a rookie manager. Will Still was touted as a potential target for Championship clubs, but he chose to stay put in the French top flight to take on the challenge to build on Franck Haise’s legacy. Next season, Lens will play in the qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League.

Newly-appointed RC Lens CEO Pierre Dréossi has lauded the signing of Will Still. “Will was our top priority to take up the position of coach and start the new cycle that is opening at the club. Will is not only a promising coach who has broken records for precociousness, he is a unifying personality obsessed with winning, a true enthusiast, a conqueror and a fine tactician.”
