La Liga outfit Rayo Vallecano have tonight confirmed the dismissal of head coach Francisco Rodríguez.
The news comes amid what had long marked an alarming stretch of form on Rayo’s part.
All told, dating back to last October, the Franjirrojos have managed just a solitary league win.
As much has seen the club tumble down the table in Spain’s top-flight, from the top half early in the campaign all the way to the depths of 14th at present.
Amid a further run of five defeats from six across all competitions, the board at the Estadio de Vallecas, on Tuesday, therefore saw fit to act.
As per an official statement across the club’s website and social media platforms, Francisco Rodríguez has been relieved of his duties as Rayo Vallecano manager with immediate effect:
‘Rayo Vallecano of Madrid announces the dismissal of Francisco Rodríguez as coach of the First Team, as well as his coaching staff. From the Club we want to thank you for your professionalism and dedication. And wish you good luck in your future projects.’
