French right-back Kenny Lala (31) has extended his contract with Brest, the club has announced. The 31-year-old joined the Brittany side in January as a free agent after terminating his contract with Olympiacos. The move proved a masterstroke, as Lala displayed his defensive qualities and attacking contributions. He logged two assists in 17 Ligue 1 games played with Stade Brestois. With the Bretons keeping their Ligue 1 status, Les Ty-Zefs have offered Lala a contract extension. The former Strasbourg defender put pen to paper over a new two-year deal with Brest.

The 2019 Coupe de la Ligue winner with Strasbourg shared his delight at extending his stay in Brest. โWhen you are looking for enjoyment in football and in a locker room, I found all these values โโhereโ, said the 31-year-old. Stade Brestois manager Eric Roy, who also penned a contract extension, was also pleased with the news. โKenny brought a lot to the team during these six months last season, thanks to his abilities and his maturity. I am very happy to see him part of this project for two more years.โ
Brest are expected to fight for their Ligue 1 status during next seasonโs 18-team Ligue 1. The Brittany outfit will start their campaign by hosting RC Lens.
