Miramón is a defensive midfielder. Therefore, he is expected to compete with reliable 33-year-old Benjamin André for a starting spot in Fonseca’s midfield. The Argentine is Lille’s seventh signing of the summer following the arrivals of goalkeeper Lisandru Olmeta, centre-back and free agent Samuel Umtiti, right-back Tiago Santos, attacking midfielder Hákon Arnar Haraldsson and left-wingers Aaron Malouda and Cavaleiro. “I had the dream from a very young age of signing for a big club like LOSC. Now I’m here and I’m really happy”, adds Miramón. Lille will start the Ligue 1 season on Friday with an away game at INEOS-owned OGC Nice.
