Hertha Berlin have this evening announced the signing of 24-year-old central-defender Agustín Rogel from Estudiantes de la Plata on a four-year contract until 2026.
“Agustín has a lot of presence on the pitch, with his way of playing and the fact he is 1.91m tall. He is strong in duels, plays with enthusiasm and has a great mentality, which other players can feed off. As a result, we are happy that he has decided to take the next step in his career here at Hertha,” said sporting director Fredi Bobic.
Arriving in Germany after six months in Argentina, Rogel added: “I am excited to be here and want to give my all for Hertha and do my part to make the fans happy.”
Rogel played for French side Toulouse between 2019 and 2022, joining Estudiantes for six months before completing a move to Berlin. The 24-year-old has represented Uruguay at U20 level and arrives at Hertha following the defensive departures of Niklas Stark and Dedryck Boyata.
