A transfer reported upon buy multiple sources earlier in the week is through. Spain’s Getafe FC confirmed on Friday that they had purchased Hertha loanee Omar Alderete, officially ending the Paraguayan defender’s association with Berlin’s “alte dame”. Terms of the purchase were not divulged but the Charlottenburgers are rumored to be on the receiving end of some €4 million from the deal.
Germany’s Kicker Magazine reports that the initially built-in purchase clause for the 26-year-old was not pulled. Instead, the relegation-threatened Spanish side negotiated a new direct transfer fee with the German club. Alderete has scored one goal and contributed one assist in 26 appearances for Getafe this season.
