Official | Brice Samba signs contract extension with Lens to 2028

Lens have this afternoon announced that goalkeeper Brice Samba has put pen to paper on a contract extension, which is set to keep him at the club until 2028.

The 29-year-old impressed on his return to French football last season, having been key in the Sang et Or side’s impressive second-place finish that saw them push Paris Saint-Germain all the way for the title. He was rewarded for his performances with his first call-ups to the France national team this year.

Samba, who was named in Get French Football News‘ Ligue 1 team of the year, started in all but one of Lens’ league fixtures. He had previously been a regular between the sticks for then-Championship side Nottingham Forest, who he left after clinching promotion to the Premier League. Before his spell in England, Samba struggled for playing time at Marseille and managed his first full campaign in professional football in 2018/19, with Caen. He will now be a starter in the Champions League group stages.
