Anthony Musaba (22) has completed a move from AS Monaco to Sheffield Wednesday. The length of the Dutchman’s contract at the Championship side has not been disclosed, nor has the fee.
Musaba joined Monaco from NEC Nijmegen for €2.5m back in the summer of 2020 but failed to consolidate a place in the Principality club’s squad. The Dutch U21 international played just once for Les Monégasques, a two-minute substitute appearance in a Champions League qualifier against Sparta Prague back in 2021.
Instead, Musaba was sent on a series of loan deals. He first went to Monaco’s partner club, Cercle Brugge, before another loan, this time at Eredivisie side Heerenveen. He then spent half of last season on loan at Ligue 2 side FC Metz before being recalled and sent back to NEC Nijmegen.
After a handful of loan spells, Musaba now leaves Monaco permanently and will play for Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship next season.
