During the summer transfer window, Bayern Munich were linked with a move for FC Midtjylland striker Franculino.
It seems the German champions remain interested, with reports from Denmark suggesting that a Bayern scout was in attendance for Midtjylland’s 1-1 draw with AGF in the Danish Superliga on Monday.
However, Midtjylland coach Mike Tullberg is confident that Franculino will remain at the club for at least the rest of the season.
“Of course I expect him to stay,” Tullberg told the Danish press after the game.
“I’ve told the club that I want my players to stay, so I don’t anticipate anyone leaving.”
When asked directly about Bayern’s interest, the former Borussia Dortmund coach responded with a wink:
“No FCM players will be moving to FC Bayern. If they’re leaving, it will be for Dortmund.”
Tullberg previously coached Dortmund’s reserves and U19 teams. He also served as caretaker coach for three games following Nuri Sahin’s dismissal in January.
Franculino has found the net 17 times in 24 games
