No date set for Chelsea loanee Malo Gusto’s Lyon return

According to Foot Mercato, no date has been set for Chelsea loanee Malo Gusto’s (19) return to Lyon. In January, the French U21 international signed a six-year deal with the West London side, joining for a €40m fee.

Lyon negotiated a loan return in the deal, meaning Gusto was supposed to end the season with Les Gones before embarking on his new journey with the Blues. However, on the 8th of February, Gusto sustained a thigh injury against Lille in a Coupe de France tie.

Since, Gusto has received medical treatment at Chelsea’s medical wing. The latter is said to have detected some physical flaws during the player’s medical in January, but the deal went ahead anyway.

With no return date set for Gusto’s return to competition for Lyon, the 19-year-old is making the most of his time in the British capital to get fit for next season and to hang out in Chelsea’s dressing room in order to create ties with his future teammates. As for his current team, Lyon, Gusto is said to not entertain the possibility of leaving Les Gones without playing some games for Laurent Blanc’s side.
