Nicolas Jackson’s move to Bayern Munich has collapsed, according to Sky Germany. The decision was made by club bosses late on Sunday night with the Senegalese forward and his entourage returning to London.
This comes after a series of events that yo-yoed back-and-forth. Firstly, Bayern Munich had reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Jackson on loan for a reported €15m. A hamstring injury sustained by Liam Delap against Fulham on Saturday saw the Premier League club then block Jackson’s move to Bayern, although the 24-year-old striker was adamant that he would join the Rekordmeister and would not return to Chelsea.
Negotiations continued into Sunday evening but a final decision was made: Bayern Munich have pulled a plug on Jackson’s transfer. Instead, they are looking at other targets. Bayern Munich have submitted a loan offer to Atalanta for Ademola Lookman – with a reported €28m purchase option also included in the deal, which becomes mandatory once Lookman plays an agreed number of games.
