The Saudi League has taken up a prominent space in sports media over the last few days, with Karim Benzema becoming the latest big star to join a Saudi side, after Cristiano Ronaldo joined in January. However, the Gulf state has no intention of stopping there, with many other aging European stars expected to arrive in weeks to come.
This is set to be the case for Chelsea midfielder, N’Golo Kanté. According to Fabrizio Romano, the French international will sign the paperwork today to join Benzema at Al-Ittihad. The Italian journalist even adds that the first part of the medical has already been completed. He will be earning €100 million a year.
Kanté has been a key member of recent Chelsea squads, but his impact has been lessened lately due to numerous injuries. Arriving from Leicester after guiding the Foxes to a Premier League crown, the Frenchman has since led his country to World Cup glory in 2018 and was regularly named Man of the Match in the run to winning the Champions League with Chelsea in 2021.
While he has been less present as of late, there is no doubt that his personality and his playing ability will be remembered for a long time at Stamford Bridge.
