Newcastle United have been linked with a move for the Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone.
According to HITC Football, Newcastle are keeping tabs on the 22-year-old French midfielder, and they could look to bring him in as a replacement for Brazilian midfielder Joelinton.
The Brazilian midfielder has not been able to agree on a new deal with Newcastle and the Premier League club could look to cash on him if an agreement is not reached soon.
Kone would be a superb, long-term investment for Newcastle and the French midfielder certainly has the ability to succeed in the Premier League. He will add defensive quality and technical attributes in the middle of the park.
The 22-year-old could be the final final piece of the puzzle, as far as the Newcastle midfield is concerned. The Magpies already have two quality players in Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali. Kone could complete their midfield unit for the foreseeable future.

A move to the Premier League would be a major step up in his career as well and the Frenchman will look to continue his development with regular football in England. Newcastle are one of the wealthiest clubs in Europe and they have an ambitious project. They are looking to put together a squad capable of winning major trophies and Kone will certainly be attracted to the idea of playing for them in the coming seasons.
It will be interesting to see how the situation surrounding Joelinton’s future develops over the next few months now.
