Serie A giants Napoli are now close to selling striker Victor Osimhen to Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli.
Initially, Osimhen wasn’t keen on joining Al Ahli but there have been a lack of options for him in the summer transfer window and even Chelsea have failed with their late attempt to sign the Nigerian.
Gianluca di Marzio has now confirmed that Osimhen’s move to Al Ahli is now closing and parties are working to finalise the details of the switch, with the player set to have a release clause in his contract.
The striker will earn €40 million per year in his deal at the Middle East club and Napoli will earn €80 million plus add-ons, which is the closest someone has come to the release clause in the player’s current Partenopei deal.
Chelsea had an issue with the wages and that is why their move didn’t quite take off. PSG never met Napoli’s asking price but Al Ahli are now close and the move can go through soon, with the Saudi deadline day coming up later in the next few days.
