With Lucas Hernandez, Benjamin Pavard, and now even potentially Dayot Upamecano looking to depart Munich, it now appears increasingly likely that central defense will serve as a pressing need for German champions FC Bayern München this offseason. The signing of at least one high-value player will need to be completed this summer. According to concurring media reports, South Korean center back Kim-Min Jae of Italian champions Napoli is a strong candidate.

The 26-year-old South Korean international is thought to have a €50 million exit clause in his current contract; something the German giants will have no problems financing if just one of the above-mentioned trio are sold. Virtually all German footballing media sources confirm that Bayern are interested in the experienced Taeguk Warrior and that some exploratory talks have even taken place. With the future of Hernandez, Pavard, and Upamecano up in the air, however, no concrete negotiations have taken place yet.
