Having already seen the departures of Dries Mertens and Lorenzo Insigne this summer, Napoli want to sign Giacomo Raspadori to reinforce their attack. But Sassuolo’s demands are appealing to be too much for Napoli’s liking.
In a report, Naples-based outlet Il Mattino claims that Sassuolo are ready to sell Giacomo Raspadori for a fee of €35 million plus bonuses of around €3-5 million, but Napoli remain reluctant to match those demands.
Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali held talks with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis on Friday to close the negotiations over a potential deal for Raspadori. But the meeting failed to produce the desired results for the Partenopei.
De Laurentiis’ current offer for the versatile attacker stands at €31 million, and it also doesn’t include any other player in exchange. He will not reportedly go beyond €38-40 million to land Raspadori this summer.
Napoli have a five-year agreement with the 22-year-old Italy international. In that contract, he will be earning a salary of €2.5 million per season.
Both Sassuolo and Napoli chiefs will meet again next week to reach an agreement. But, as for now, there is no sign of optimism in regard to the player’s potential move to the Naples-based side.
