Napoli’s contact for Salernitana boss Paulo Sousa has been positive and they have already prepared a contract for the Portuguese.
Daniele Longo has reported that Sousa is now a strong contender to become the next Napoli manager and Aurelio de Laurentiis is keen. Contacts between the two have been quite positive and rather important. They would be ready to offer Sousa a two-year deal with an option for a third year.
Last week, Salernitana did exercise an extention in his deal and after the recent meeting involving De Laurentiis and Sousa, the club’s staff have been left annoyed. Sousa could leave Salernitana by paying a fee of €1 million but as things stand, De Laurentiis is not keen on spending money to hire a manager.
But having said that, a common ground could be found if Napoli offer Salernitana some players in their move and contacts between the clubs are expected in the next few hours.
