Serie A outfits Napoli are in constant contact with Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes in hopes of a potential summer transfer.
According to Fabrizio Romano via Calcio Napoli 24, Napoli have stayed in contact with Gomes’ agent Jorge Mendes for quite some time now. These contacts are considered to be still in preliminary stages as the Partenopei have not received any verbal green light from the player.
Wolves might have to let the Brazilian international leave this summer as they are headed for relegation from the Premier League. Numerous undisclosed clubs are monitoring the situation surrounding Gomes, and the competition will begin as soon as the Black Country side’s fate is sealed for the season.
Gomes heads Napoli’s shopping list ahead of the new campaign, but factors like the coach’s decision, the player’s profile, and the transfer fee will influence the club’s intent on going for him.
The 25-year-old joined Wolves four years ago from Flamengo as manager Julen Lopetegui’s sixth signing of that window.
