Anthony Modeste does not want to give any guarantees that he will still be an FC Köln player when the transfer window slams shut in a few months.
“I’m always honest. If something comes up, I have to talk to the club. But that won’t be a problem, because the top earners are supposed to leave,” Modeste told reporters today.
“I only have one career. If you score 20 goals, it would be bad if your agent was not active. As of now, I’m a player of 1.FC Köln and enjoy that, but currently they can’t make me a new offer, then I have to think about my situation.”
Köln coach Steffen Baumgart recently stated that he “firmly expects” the 34-year-old to stay.
Modeste was Köln’s leading goalscorer last season, scoring 20 Bundesliga goals. He has one year left on his contract.
