Kicker reports that Werder Bremen full-back Mitchell Weiser is considering switching his allegiance to Algeria.

Having represented Germany at various youth levels, Mitchell Weiser is now apparently exploring the possibility of playing for Algeria.
According to Kicker, the 28-year-old Werder Bremen right-back has been in contact with the Algerian Football Association.
According to the German football magazine, Weiser has Algerian roots on his mother’s side of the family, and it’s currently being checked if he’s eligible to play for Algeria.
The former Bayern Munich player has made 22 appearances for Werder this season, scoring three goals and providing nine assists.
