Milan Škriniar’s PSG move not jeopardised by potentially season-ending injury

L’Équipe are reporting that Milan Škriniar’s (28) planned summer transfer to Paris Saint-Germain hasn’t been jeopardised by an injury that threatens to rule the Inter Milan centre-back out for the rest of the season.

The Slovakian international centre-back confirmed back in January that he will be joining Les Parisiens in the summer, upon the expiry of his contract at Internazionale. Although his summer arrival was concluded, PSG made an attempt to bring Škriniar to the Parc des Princes in the summer, although those attempts ultimately proved unfruitful.

Škriniar, therefore, remained at Inter Milan until the end of the season, however, there are now doubts about whether he will play again during the current campaign. The Slovak played during Inter’s Champions League fixture against Porto earlier this month, after having failed to play in the month prior.

However, despite playing for just over 10 minutes during that game, Škriniar was forced to withdraw from Slovakia’s squad for their upcoming fixtures. He is suffering from recurring back pain, which is, according to L’Équipe, worrying PSG, who are set to welcome the player into their squad from 1st July.

Whilst the injury doesn’t jeopardise his summer move to PSG, Škriniar may have already played his last game for Inter, with some within his entourage doubting whether he will be able to feature again this season.
