Milan are set to move ahead with manager Stefano Pioli despite their disastarous recent Champions League form.
The Rossoneri have now not won even once in the Champions League, having been held to goalless draws by Newcastle United and Borussia Dortmund and they recently picked up a 3-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain. This leaves them at the bottom of the table, with no goals scored at all.
Luca Bianchin has reported that Milan are set to move forward with Pioli and the club do not question the manager’s position right now, despite the poor form. The belief is that PSG are a club with much more formidable resources and losing to them isn’t a cause for drastic decisions.
The defeat did leave Pioli with some tactical choices to ponder upon, as he decided to have a high defensive line and press high. Since the team isn’t used to that, the move didn’t work against especially quick PSG forwards. The bad tactical choices were talked about in the dressing room after the game too and there is talk of a lengthy conversation having taken place with Davide Calabria.
There is a feeling that the team was unbalanced and Pioli is now left to make some more tactical decisions.
