Milan keeping tabs on Valencia’s Javi Guerra

Valencia midfielder Javi Guerra has been linked with a move to Milan although coach Stefano Pioli may have to wait until the summer to bring his man to Serie A.

According to DAZN (via milannews.it), the 20-year-old, who has made 19 appearances, scoring four times for the Spanish side so far this term, has been on the Rossoneri’s radar for sometime and Pioli is keen on bringing in winter reinforcements. He recently stated that, “I believe we can do something in the transfer window.

“We have lost (Tommaso) Pobega for some time and we have (Ismael) Bennacer at the Africa Cup of Nations. We have also lost (Rade) Krunic. It depends on the opportunities in the window.”

Reports suggest that Valencia do not want to let their talented youngster go in January, but may be ready to listen to offers at the end of the season. The Spanish Under-21 star has spent his entire career at Los Che, graduating from their youth system. Guerra is under contract at the Stadio Mestalla until 2027.

Milan would prefer to sign the player immediately, but are understood to be in pole position should they be prepared to wait until the end of the current campaign.
