Serie A side Milan see former Tottenham manager Antonio Conte as a potential replacement for Stefano Pioli.
Daniele Longo has provided details into the situation of Pioli, stating that barring a sensational twist, the Italian will leave the Rossoneri at the end of the season. The club’s owners are very unhappy with the start of the season and the story is now nearing the finish line.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Gerry Cardinale have similar ideas about how the club has to be run and the idea is to build a winning project under a manager who has operated with a similar goal before. Conte has become the key target, with the Italian having shown a keen inclination towards returning to Italy. He knows that RedBird want him and he is waiting for their approach.
Milan still need to assess some issues, such as squad building and the budget they could make available to Conte, with an important factor likely to be the salary. Other alternatives are Thiago Motta and Roberto de Zerbi, with the Bologna boss interested in managing the club.
