VfL Wolfsburg’s Micky van de Ven is more open to moving to a top Premier League side rather than Bayern Munich, according to Florian Plettenberg.
It’s already been widely reported that the defender is open to leaving Wolfsburg this summer. There has been interest from several clubs including Liverpool and Bayern Munich. Despite Bayern’s interest, the 22-year-old would prefer a move to England than Bavaria. As it stands, the transfer is cold from a Bayern perspective.
The Dutchman is open about his desire to move to a top Premier League side. What’s more, his luck may be in with Liverpool monitoring the youngster’s situation.
Liverpool’s new sporting director Jörg Schmadtke brought van de Ven to Wolfsburg in 2021 for €3.5m. The 22-year-old is set to cost around €40m as he recently signed a contract extension until 2027 at the club.
Van de Ven played 36 times for Wolfsburg this season as they finished eighth and just missed out on European football as they lost on the final day of the season against already relegated Hertha Berlin.
