According to a report by Fabrizio Romano, Olympique de Marseille are close to walking away from their negotiations with Borussia Dortmund over Youssoufa Moukoko (19).
Moukoko has been a target for the club as they look to bolster their attacking options by bringing in a forward who has a high ceiling for growth but is perhaps not ready to lead the line immediately.
And the French sides’ interest has been reciprocated by the player who is eager to leave his formative club this summer. Moukoko has grown frustrated with his progression plan at the Bundesliga side and wanted to be promised more game time with the professionals (something that Dortmund could not provide).
Long talks without results for Youssoufa Moukoko
However, negotiations with Dortmund have been far from fruitful and after long talks, Marseille are now willing to step away from the deal. Regardless, Moukoko will likely leave the Champions League finalists this summer with multiple other clubs thought to be looking at the forward.
