Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti has returned to training with the squad after missing the last two games due to a hamstring injury. The announcement comes on PSG’s social channels.
The 30-year-old Italian international sustained the injury in a 1-0 defeat to Lyon on April 2nd, and was subsequently replaced by Hugo Ekitike.
PSG will play against Angers in their next league fixture, where they will have the opportunity to take an 11-point lead over their closest rival, Olympique de Marseille.
Verratti has only played in 22 out of 31 league games this season due to a combination of injuries and suspensions. However, his contributions in midfield have been vital to the PSG’s success, and his return will undoubtedly be a welcome sight for the club’s supporters.
The PSG will be looking to maintain their position at the top of the league table with a win against Angers, while Marseille will play their match against Lyon on Sunday night.
With just a few games left to play, every point is crucial, and the return of Verratti is a significant boost as Christophe Galtier’s side stroll towards another Ligue 1 trophy.
