According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have made a verbal offer for Rasmus Højlund. It is understood that Manchester United sent their first verbal proposal as a €60 million package. The bid structure is €50 million as the fixed fee, plus €10 million in add-ons.
The deal is progressing, and a middle ground is likely to be reached, but there is currently still some work to be done. Atalanta always wanted at least a €70 million fee to part ways with their prized asset. It is thought that a fixed fee of €60 million, plus the rest in add-ons, would be enough to seal the deal.
Manchester United are keen to move the deal forward as quickly as possible. They are well underway with their pre-season training camp, and would like Højlund to be integrated very soon. The young Dane will have a lot of pressure on his shoulders going into the new season, so it important that he can gel with the squad and have a strong pre-season.
