Manchester City have been linked with a summer move for Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Hugo Larsson.
Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg claims City have triggered talks with the Bundesliga club.
Frankfurt’s sporting director, Markus Krosche, values the midfielder at €60 million. Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are also monitoring his situation.
Larsson would improve City’s midfield options
Larsson made his senior debut for Malmo FF in a Svenska Cupen match against GAIS in February 2022.
He subsequently played his first Allsvenskan match, a 1-1 draw with IF Elfsborg two months later, and scored his first league goal against Degerfors IF in November that year.
Larsson was named the Allsvenskan Young Player of the Year in 2022. His performances earned him a move to Eintracht Frankfurt the following summer.
Man City are keen to sign the 20-year-old. His versatility makes him an ideal fit for Pep Guardiola’s team.
He can play as a box-to-box midfielder, a deep-lying playmaker or in an advanced role. With Matheus Nunes and Mateo Kovacic struggling for form, Larsson could provide fresh energy.
With Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva ageing, City need fresh talent to maintain long-term success. Larsson’s composure and technical skills suit their style.

Larsson has room for growth and would develop further under Guardiola. A move could help City reshape their midfield while also securing a player with substantial resale value.
