Manchester United are not looking at bringing Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech to Old Trafford in January, according to transfer reporter Dean Jones.

The Morocco international has been linked with a move to Erik ten Hag’s side, but Jones doubts right wing is an area the Red Devils will strengthen next month.

Man United transfer news – Hakim Ziyech

GIVEMESPORT was recently informed by journalist Simon Phillips that Chelsea will listen to offers for Ziyech in January.

With the 29-year-old seemingly available for transfer, reports have suggested that United are interested in him.

In fact, according to Calciomercato, the Red Devils have already “knocked on Chelsea’s door” about signing Ziyech.

This is not the first time there has been talk about Ziyech and Ten Hag reuniting at Old Trafford. Back in August, journalist Nabil Djellit claimed that the Blues star was a priority for the Dutchman.

What has Dean Jones said about Hakim Ziyech and Man United?

Jones thinks Ziyech to United is a bit of a non-starter.

Speaking to GMS, the journalist said: “There was a moment when it made sense for United to go into the market for Ziyech, but I feel like that has passed by now.

“It isn’t a name I’ve heard mentioned in terms of them coming for him again in January – so not really a position, I don’t think, that United are looking at.”

How did Hakim Ziyech perform in the World Cup group stage?

He was excellent and one reason why Morocco were able to qualify for the next round of the competition.

His side’s opening game against Croatia was the only match where he was not involved in a goal, with that clash ending 0-0.

In the wins versus Belgium and Canada afterwards, Ziyech scored once and provided an assist, helping Morocco to set up a clash with Spain in the last 16.

It is a timely reminder of what Ziyech, who joined Chelsea from Ajax for around £33m (via Sky Sports), can do.

He has barely played for Graham Potter’s side this season, making just one start in the Premier League, according to Transfermarkt.

With that in mind, then, the former Ajax man probably needs a transfer in January or next summer at the latest. A switch to United and a reunion with Ten Hag, however, looks unlikely.

His performances at the World Cup, though, could perhaps help generate interest from elsewhere.
