Manchester United are ‘also in the conversation’ for Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix, CBS reporter Ben Jacobs has informed GiveMeSport.
The Red Devils are one of several top clubs from across the continent to have been credited with an interest in the 23-year-old in recent weeks.
Manchester United transfer news – Joao Felix
Fabrizio Romano recently revealed in a column for CaughtOffside that Felix is ‘open to leaving’ the Wanda Metropolitano as ‘there are tensions with Diego Simeone’.
And 90min have since backed up those claims, stating that United, Chelsea, and Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain are contemplating a move for the Portugal international.
However, it’s believed that Felix’s potential suitors would prefer an initial loan deal with an option to buy, and it remains to be seen if Atleti would be willing to accept such terms.

Another possible buyer is Aston Villa despite their lowly status in the Premier League standings.
The Athletic have disclosed that Felix’s agent Jorge Mendes is trying to push him in the direction of the Midlands outfit thanks to his close relationship with the club.
What has Jacobs said about Felix?
Jacobs told GMS: “With Manchester United, who are also in the conversation for Joao Felix, the Glazers talking about potential ownership changes and/or investment.

“And on top of that, the fact that they spent a lot more money than they planned for in the summer, and then the fact that the fee is so high, all adds up to the Glazers really having to over-invest in Erik ten Hag, and Manchester United in January, with a budget under financial fair play that they simply may not have.
“And that’s when you have to start balancing whether one it’s affordable and two if it’s worth it compared to other more cost-effective options in the market that might allow a club like Manchester United or Arsenal to do a two-for-one if they choose to move in January.”
Where would Felix fit in at Old Trafford?
Felix should be able to settle into life at Old Trafford fairly quickly should he make the switch thanks to compatriots Bruno Fernandes, who has publicly praised him in the past, and Diogo Dalot.
The versatile attacker has played on either flank and upfront several times throughout his senior career, but has turned out in the number 10 role behind the striker more often than not.
United do not line up with a player in that position normally under Ten Hag, yet Felix’s 53 goals and 29 assists in 172 appearances for Atletico and Benfica showcase his clinical nature in the final third of the pitch.
