Man Utd and PSG target Axel Disasi tipped to make summer switch

AS Monaco defender Axel Disasi will be on the move this summer, according to Telefoot1. The French defender has interest from Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, and Manchester United.

Disasi is reportedly considering a summer departure after only three years with the Principality club. He will likely fetch the club a profit in the transfer market.

PSG considered a move for the 24-year-old last in the last two windows when they struggled to sign Milan Skriniar. Les Parisiens had him as their backup option, but Monaco rebuffed their approach.

With sporting adviser Luis Campos and head coach Christophe Galtier keen on bringing defensive reinforcement, they could move for him again this summer.

Meanwhile, Manchester United and Bayern Munich asked about Disasi’s situation in the winter transfer window. They could be preparing a summer swoop.

Disasi joined Monaco in 2020 from Stade de Reims for €13 million and signed a five-year deal.

After struggling in his first season, Disasi has found his form and is one of the best defenders in Ligue 1.

The Paris-born defender wins 59% of all his league duels while being very progressive with the ball. He can carry and pass the ball well.

Disasi has helped his side keep seven clean sheets in 24 league appearances this season, contributing two goals and three assists.

Phil Jones and Harry Maguire will likely leave Man Utd this summer, and there could be space for Disasi in their squad. United manager Erik ten Hag has used Luke Shaw as a left centre-back this season. Having another trusted central defender could give the Dutch boss a viable option.

Despite clinching the signing of Skriniar for free this summer, PSG could push for another defender, with the club unsure about Sergio Ramos’ stay.

Bayern Munich will likely lose Benjamin Pavard in June, with Barcelona interested. The Bavarians could also try to sign Disasi.

It is unclear where Disasi will end up this summer, but he will have his choice of top European clubs.
