The Sir Jim Ratcliffe era is well and truly underway at Man United, with this summer’s transfer window likely to be a busy one for the Red Devils.
For the new model to be sustainable, the club can’t go gung ho and all guns blazing, but a few diligent buys should set them up well for the start of the 2024/25 campaign.
It isn’t yet clear if Erik ten Hag will be in charge by that point, though it appears for now at least that the club are moving forward on that basis.
One player that they’ve been linked with is Benfica’s exciting £103m-rated talent, Joao Neves.
According to an interview that the 19-year-old gave to Sport TV (h/t Fichajes), he won’t rule out leaving the Portuguese giants this summer.
The outlet also note that United will make a concerted effort to sign him, even though Benfica’s demands seem a little on the high side.
With two goals and two assists in 35 games, it could be suggested that he hasn’t hit the heights this season, however, it’s believed that his all-round game has been at the highest level, hence why his current employers are arguably wanting to keep hold of one of their prized assets.
