Mainz are reportedly on the verge of signing former Ajax and Aston Villa player Anwar El Ghazi as a free agent.
According to Sky Germany, Mainz 05 are set to sign Anwar El Ghazi on a free transfer.
The former Ajax and Aston Villa winger is a free agent, having recently had his contract with PSV terminated.
Capable of playing anywhere up front, El Ghazi will be brought in to provide a greater goal threat for Mainz, who have scored just three goals in four games so far this season.
The 28-year-old found the net eight times in 28 appearances for PSV last season. He scored 26 goals and laid on 16 assists in 119 appearances for Aston Villa before making the move back to his home country.
