Having completed the signing of Nemanja Matic (35) from Stade Rennais, Olympique Lyonnais are looking for further reinforcements to their midfield by targeting Premier League Nottingham Forest’s Orel Mangala (25), according to Loic Tanzi of L’Équipe.
With Les Gones sitting precariously in the Ligue 1 relegation play-off position, the need to strengthen the squad in this window is of the utmost importance for the seven-time champions, whose plight became yet bleaker last Friday night in a 3-2 home reverse to Rennes.
Belgian Mangala has played 19 times in the Premier League for Nottingham Forest this season, scoring one goal and establishing himself as a dynamic all-round midfielder, capable of operating in a holding midfield role as well as a more box-to-box midfielder.
As well as Mangala, the Rhone-Alpes side are also exploring potential deals for Tottenham Hotspur’s Danish midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (28) and Fluminense starlet André (22).
