According to L’Équipe, Lyon have reached an agreement with West Ham United to sign Saïd Benrahma (28) on loan. The deal to sign the Algerian international also includes a non-obligatory purchase option where OL can sign the attacking midfielder permanently.
The transfer which will see Benrahma arrive at the Groupama Stadium could be worth an eventual €15m if the former Brentford attacker signs for Les Gones on a permanent basis. Lyon will pay a €5m loan fee for the 28-year-old until the end of the season and then will have an option to buy worth an additional €10m should they want to keep the Algerian attacker.
An end to Danjuma
The agreement between West Ham and Lyon spells an end to the Rhône club’s pursuit of Everton loanee Arnaut Danjuma (26). Lyon looked set to sign the Villarreal forward but a last-minute demand from Everton to allow them to sign Jake O’Brien, according to L’Équipe, has seen the move collapse.
